Fantastic service from a top quality company , fast and getting parts , great communication and all round service was above the norm. Ian was brilliant in explaining things before and after he did them .
Its all too easy to read a review and take the one sided view of its author, whilst the sensible approach is still to get recommendations from other customers and indeed visit the site and the team. This is what I did and I have followed it up with getting my Defender serviced and have a new Fuel filter block fitted. The jobs were done professionally and the Timberlake team was courteous and friendly. I have no hesitation in recommending them, go on give them a visit and see for yourself.
I have entrusted the maintenance of my (five) vehicles to Timberlake Motors of Thame for the past 10 years and never have I been let down or disappointed. Two of the vehicles are Land Rovers, a 1956 Series One and a modern Range Rover and it never ceases to amaze me how the experience of Timberlake Motors enables both of them, 50 years apart, to be repaired and serviced to the same high standards. The service is personal and friendly and you can always be sure that the diagnosis and recommendations made by Timberlake are in the best interests of the vehicle and the owner. I have no hesitation in continuing to recommend others to Timberlake, as I have done before.
They collected our Discovery TD5 after being unable to diagnose the fault on the scene, They took it to put on the diagnostic to find the faults, One was supposed to be the fuel pump which was replaced, But they were unable to show us the old one or any proof they had bought one,we were told "It had gone for scrap " TD5 Fuel pumps are in the tank and a mostly plastic (no scrap value) This work was done with no prior authorisation they just went ahead and completed it, The second fault is a wiring fault We were asked to leave the vehicle for another 48 hours for this to be dealt with, leading us to believe he was able to solve the issue, but after a total of 7 days of having the vehicle we asked to collect it and were told " I am not an auto electrician and can't fix the fault" "you will need to take it to one to fix the fault" He did however ask for approx 650 for the work carried out which seamed excessive for fitting a fuel pump and I agreed pay 500 as the wiring fault was not repaired, Ian the owner then became very threatening and abusive and called the police to tell them, he was going to get violent if they didn't send someone down, The police stated while on the scene that this was not the first visit they had made to the garage. I certainly would not recommend this garage to anyone else.
