This book shop has been apart of the town for many years. Looks small from the outside but it is quite large on the inside with a very good selection of books. The staff are very knowledgeable, clearly enjoy working there and will always order something in for you if they don't have it. Prices may not be the lowest but are by no means the highest. Fantastic little shop who's puffins outside have been a well known part of Thame for as long as I can remember.
I went for book gifts for a kid and they have a fantastic children's section. A big back wall of picture books, two big bookcases of activity books like Lego and Star Wars, plus two bookcases for younger readers and two big bookcases for older readers. There are baby books and few little toys. Plus a kids non fiction section at the back. The other half of the store is books for grown ups, but I didn't look there. They also sell greeting cards. They have a loyalty card which you get a stamp for every 10 you spend. Plus a really cute puffin statue out front!
Quality bookshop. Always helpful and if they don't have the book in stock most can be ordered for next day
One of the joys of a visit to Thame is being able to spend time browsing in the Book House. The staff are very welcoming and very knowledgeable and if a book is not in stock they will order it and more often then not it is available for collection the following day.
